Despite some strong releases in April (e.g. “Interwoven”, the unplugged album by US black metal band UADA), I spent most time re-listening to Opeth‘s classics and most of all, “Ghost Reveries”. Right from the release in 2005 the songwriting and unique atmosphere of this release has held me captive. Songs like “Ghost of Perdition” is still one of my favorites and hearing it live is a highlight of any Opeth show. Going back to this album always bings back the excitement I felt for the transformation in the band’s sound and even today, the evolution of Opeth keeps me attracted to anything they release…
